All of you do (something that is close to our love and avoid your hatred and anger.) Suddenly, when repentance is useless and does not save us from punishment, we regret.

Each of you must do what brings him closer to our friendship and avoid what is not pleasing to us and angers us, because God takes a person suddenly, while repentance is beneficial for him. He has not, and repentance will not save him from our punishment for his sin.
